Finalllyyyyyyy!!!! ;)

Sorry for the long delay in posts!!! I got lazy and tied up with so much different stuff. I guess I will some up the end of my road trip. I was frustrated, but finished Choctaw strong. I grinded my butt off in the Choctaw Main Event and lost a pretty big flip towards the end of day 1 and barely survived into day 2. I grinded out 10 big blinds for a min-cash that I was pretty happy about. I jumped into the last tournament of the Choctaw series, and made a little bit of a run. I cashed, but just lost the important flips to make the deep run.

From Choctaw, I drove to Tunica, Mississippi with David Nicholson. Here, we stayed on Harrah's property for the two weeks and grinded out the whole series. I did real well in the cash games focusing on the Big O(5 card Pot Limit Omaha) game. I made a lot of deep runs in the NLH tournaments, but continued running terrible in the crucial spots. But, we did accomplish one of our goals for the year. We happened to play the $365 PLO tournament and beat my good friend Michael "Carwash" Schneider heads up for my first WSOPc ring. That was awesome getting off my shoulders. We also made it to Memphis, Tennessee on this trip a few times for shopping and BBQ. And man.... They had some great BBQ.

I went from Tunica to Atlanta to visit my long lost friend, Maya Roffler, and my sister for a long weekend. I was able to get a lot done in Atlanta. I managed to go to a Hawks game with Maya and go to my sister's restaurant, Papacitos. Went to a few different bars and had a great night of Karaoke at my sister's house one night after the bars.

From Atlanta, I got back to Tampa and spent the first few days relaxing with my dog and catching up with her. I played a little poker there and hung out with my roommate some and with my other poker friends that lived down there.

But, this stay wasn't too long. No more than a week later, I was on the road again. But, this time, it was only to West Palm Beach. Here, I got a house with David Nicholson, Justin Gardenhire, and Clint Tolbert. This was more of a vacation than a poker series for me. I played the first event and made a deep run with my buddy David. Then, I played a few more and made a deep run in the Main Event to bubble. But, our roommate, Clint Tolbert, lost heads up. While down there, we went to the beach quite often, and did a lot restaurants and bars in downtown West Palm Beach.

That was a nice vacation before I went back home to Tampa to pack up all my stuff to get on a flight the next day bright and early to head to San Diego to taxi to Rosarito, Mexico. Going thru the Mexican border was an interesting experience. I had my passport and everything out and ready, but didn't need anything. Literally, you wouldn't even know you went into another country is how relaxed their border was.

Once I eventually got to my condo, I unpacked and pulled out my computer. I ran around town with Marty as he helped me with everything I needed to send to Poker Stars to get reset up. I submitted my stuff in that night and was playing the next morning at 10am. I fortunately ran really well the first few days online and had a lot of fun.

But, after a little less than a week, we headed to the border to head to the airport and go to Denver, CO for the HPT and WSOPc in Blackhawk. I got to do a lot of cool stuff here including skiing, breweries, bars, restaurants, and many other things. I stayed with my friend's house for 3 weeks. I made a deep run in the HPT main and a deep run in the reemtry of the WSOPc until my friend Justin busted my KK<JJ. But, Colorado was amazing and good times. I left there for Tampa for one last time. My dad flew in a few days later, and we drove from Tampa to Mexico in just over two days. Brought my dog and now I am here. I will update another day all about Mexico. It's amazing and I am making money. Eating a lot of tacos. Learning more Spanish. Hope all is well with yall!

More Oklahoma... Part 2

Well, Saturday I had to drop Sterling off to play day 1c at noon. I came back to the room and watched my Seminoles struggle and lose to UNC in basketball as David continued to sleep. I eventually woke him up so we could head up to Chili's to enjoy the playoff football games. We stayed and watch the full game of the ravens/broncos game. Then, we went up to casino and bsed a while and watched the 49ers/packer game. Our other roommate Sterling eventually made it through as we were having some beers and sweating him. We came back to the hotel and played some OFC with not one, but two wilds thanks to our buddy Seneca. We played this too late since David and myself got stuck.

We got up early Sunday to get ready for the restart of our tournament. I put on my falcons jersey and my game face. We all were pretty excited knowing first place was just under 170k. Well, the story of my trip was outlined this day. I played really well in the first level, 300 1k/2k. I lost a few races and 60/40s, but still managed to chip up over 200k going into 400 1200/2400. Then, I played an absurd pot that sent me to a dazed and confused position. UTG raised to 6k with 215k stack and a 50k stack called, it folded to me and I looked down at two red kings. I opted to make it 15.5k with a 210k stack. Folded back to UTG and he put in a 4th bet to 42k. The other guy got out of the way, and I postured for a few minutes trying to decide my best option. I figured he had AK a lot here but could also have JJ, QQ, and AA. Obviously I beat most of his range here, I elect to just call thinking he would prolly fold AK and only calling with AA and maybe QQ. The flop came out J95hhh, he donked 50k. This put me a big predicament, and I thought for a few minutes before I deciding my best option was going Allen for 178k. He tanked for 5 minutes as we were playing the largest pot of the tourn,Avnet 75 people from the money. He elected to call with AK and the ace of hearts. A standard 60/40 but for a huge equity spot. No waiting, he spikes the queen of hearts on the turn and I failed to hit the 10 of hearts on river for straight flush. I left the room in shock and shaken up. I had high expectations coming back to day 2 with a large stack and then busted in the second level. I took 30 minutes to calm down and refocus before I entered the turbo tournament that started at 1pm. That tournament didn't go well either and busted 1010<23ss after 3betting pre. Got it on the turn of a 6322 board. Didn't hit the ten on the river and went back to hotel room. I eventually gathered myself again to go back up there to play the 5pm tourney. I entered this tournament and found out a little ,after that I accidentally registered with Sterlings card as he tried to enter and said that he was already registered by either me or David. Well, we got that sorted out and David and myself grinded a short stack all night and busted in the last levels of the night before bagging up as Sterling busted early. Went to bed late and grab some junk food to put the miseries of a bad day past me.

Woke up bright and early, 11am(early for a poker player that is up to 5am usually), to do it all over again. Again, like a lot of the tourneys, I didn't get much going and busted just shy of dinner break. I ended up playing cash games all day with both Sterling and David. Like the rest of the trip, I lost in cash games yet again. Everything I did was just lose. I feel like I played well, but just ran bad just like the whole trip. Eventually, went to bed really late that night.

After just a few hours of sleep, I got up and headed to casino with only David as Sterling was leaving later tonight. We jumped in the 6max and I busted in record quick fashion. I turned JJ into a bluff and it didn't work, and then lost A10<99. I went back to hotel to nap, but instead got motivated to go grind cash with Sterling as he wanted to play one last session. Well, this session didn't go well either, but it was because the games were pretty dead and slow. We quit small losers and I went to go play the 5pm. I played this tourney all night grinding a short stack for most of the day. Late in the night, I got moved to my buddy, Jose's table. Had some fun over there and then my other buddy Carwash got moved over there. I played a lot of pots and couldn't beat the table donkeys with all the chips. I eventually 4bet shipped AQ to get snap called by 1010 and obviously lose in the last 15 minutes of the night. Well, grabbed David from cash room and came back to hotel only to have to give Sterling a ride to OKC airport. That was a fun 5 hour round trip. Two nights in a row with only 3 hours of sleep.

Oklahoma.... Part 1

Well, this trip started with myself, Sterling, and David. We left Biloxi on Wednesday afternoon. This was an interesting drive as Sterling slept in the back for majority of the trip, and David nd myself drove. We felt like we were in the movie twister as we drove thru some rough storms. The highways were covered with flooding water as we had no visibility thru the pouring rain. But we made it to Durant that night. During the drive, David and myself also tweeted at people trying to get a team competition for the whole series. We got 4 suckers/2 teams to partake in this. We had two headsup bets vs our asian friends AP and Huy and vs these other two guys Jody and Nick.We actually went straight to the casino to get our player cards made and register for the first tournament on the next day. We then checked into our Holiday Inn Express and got situated in our king suite. David and Sterling got a little closer and shared the king as I slept on my air mattress.

Well, we got up a little late the next day and we all got ready and made over to the casino to take our seats in the first ring event. David and Sterling were seated at the same table side by side ironically(I'm sure they talked strategy in bed the night before ;) ). Well, this tourney didn't go my way from start to finish. I never got over starting stack, but I grinned it out. I got down to 3k from 10k pretty quickly and managed to get close to starting stack before losing a flip with A10 vs 99. I was the first to hit up the cash room. This scene was definitely a gold mine. I jumped in this PLO game and played it for a little while before Sterling joined me after he busted out. We both played in the PLO game for a while as I lost a little bit and he won a little. Then we left to go to this steak house to eat with our friend, AP. We all enjoyed a good steak as I got a peppered ribeye. The meal got better when we opted to play a random game for the bill(AP's game of choice). We each selected a bottle of steak sauce as Sterling went first and took Heinz 57, I took the Worchester, and AP took A1. We had the waitress pick one of the sauces and she chose Heinz 57 and we all were excited me and AP knowing Sterling lost and was paying for our $80 dinner, but Sterling was excited thinking he was safe since she picked his. We laughed at him and said good game sir. We headed back to the casino and eventually, David would bust and we headed back to hotel.

The next day was Friday, day 1 of the 500k guarantee of the reentry tournament. This was one of the two major tournaments why we all came to Oklahoma.  Well, we all jumped in the first flight of 4 possible flights. Like the first tourney, I didn't ever get over the starting 10k stack and busted fairly quickly. Sterling followed me out fairly quickly as well. We both hit up the cash games some before trying the second flight at 5pm. I got stuck in the cash games again even after I gave someone the worst beat in my life. I raised $15 in a $2/$5 game from UTG+1 with 88 and it folded around to BB who called. Flop came out Q104hhx. He check/called my $20 cbet. Turn was 8h, and he checked/raised me from $45 to $90 with $150 behind. I called and the river was another 8 and bet $60 and tanked called my shove. He flashed QQ and said I knew I should have folded. But ya, I jumped in PLO game and ended up stuck prolly $500 before late regging the 5pm flight. I jumped in it and got off to a better start as I got up to 18k from 12k starting stack(SS) at the first break. The next 4 levels went the same way the first 4 did, and I had 42k at second break coming back to 25 250/500. I went on a quick rush at this table from playing real well and having people punt their stack off to me and I peeked at 120k in this level. The next few levels didn't go as well and I lost some races and 60/40s and had prolly 90k going into the last few levels of the day. I ended up playing well and chipping up to 145k before we bagged for the night. In the process of chipping up, I was able to bust our friend/opponent of our team bets, Huy. AQ>AK aipf for his 10bbs. I jokingly sang him the hey, hey, hey goodbye song before and as the Q flashed in the window of the flop. He smiled as he busted and knew it was all fun and games with our prop bet for the series. But I ended the night and day with a top 10 stack and was excited to have Saturday off and watch football. Roommate and partner in team bets, David, was able to make it through as well, but in the first flight on only one shell. Sterling unfortunately busted for a second time and had to play again Saturday at noon.

Biloxi Trip

Well, its been another fun trip to Biloxi thus far! I have played more cash game hours than tournament hours unfortunately to no success in the $350 $300k guarantee. However, I have lots of success in the cash games here. I have only played the 5/5 PLO games and have been very fortunate in the games I have played. We have had a little time for some fun. A few of us went to the IP tonight to watch a half of the BCS National Championship joke of a game.

The first night here, Thursday night, we started the trip off with a bang. I got settled into the room and then made way to poker room and put my name on a few lists. But all the lists were ridiculously long. I eventually got a text telling me my seat was available for the 5/5 PLO game. Well, I got in the game and it started off really slow as the game was real nitty. I ended up going to Jia with John Dolan and David Nicholson, and we got some hibachi. When I returned to my seat from dinner, the action had picked up in the game. I ended up running really well in the important spots all night. Made quit a few nutted hands with redraws and picked off the guy dumping money in the game. I ended up quiting around 3am up just over $4000 and headed to the room for bed. Our room was crowded with my buddies Willie, Sterling, and David. We had two doubles, an air mattress, and a pull away. David bought everyone ear plugs and I had nassal strips for my snoring. We passed out only to wake up early to beat the line for registration the tournament.

Day two was the $350 tournament. We got up a little early to register since the line was supposedly really long the previous year. We ended up registering and then ended up heading to Snacks, a sandwich shop, to get some food. Finally, I went back upstairs and took my seat in the tourney. I had a pretty good table draw and ended up playing a few games of chess with one of my opponents sitting next to me on his ipad. The tournament didn't go well and I busted fairly quickly. I played one interesting hand worth talking about... I looked down at AA in middle position with 7k stack and raised to 650 at 25 100/200 after an early limper. I received a call from the guy on my left and the limper. The flop came out K74 rainbow. I led out 875 after checked to me, and the guy on my left took little time to call me as the other guy folded. The turn was another 4, which I thought was a great card, and I bet 1750 and recieved another call. The river came another 4, which convinced me I had the nuts, and I decided to shove all in hoping any king would call me. The guy tanked for a few minutes, and then started a speach saying I trapped you and let you hit runner runner for your king to be good. Then, he folded and tabled pockets sevens for the best hand, third nuts behind quad 4s and kings full. Everyone at the table immediately started berating him as my jaw dropped and couldn't find the right thing to say. I think he eventually figured out he misread the board, but he played it off like he put me on kings full. lol Anyways, that was pretty absurd and fun. After I busted, I headed downstairs for the cash games. Line was ridiculous long, but I put my name on the list and got called 2 hours later. I had another great session in the PLO game as picked off another guy just giving his money away. I actually conteplated between staying up all night and skipping the second flight of the tournament to crush the cash game. But, I decided to go to bed around 5am up around another $4000 dollars.

I wake up later on Saturday and had David register me for the tournament. I ended up being the 81st alternate and waited over an hour and a half to get in the tournament. Unlike the first day, I built a stack real quickly and went from 10k to 45k in the first 3 hours before running into a big cooler with KK<AJ on a AKJ flop and an ace on the river. I grinded the short stack for a bit and then busted and made my way to the cash games yet again. The lists weren't as long as the previous day, and it went a lot quicker as I watched the NFL playoff games on the TVs. I ended up putting in another long session and bounced in and out of the multiple 5/5 PLO games. I ended up struggling all day and night, but played pretty well. I ran pretty awful making up for the first two nights, but I only lost a couple hundred and went to bed around 4am.

Sunday, I slept in for a good bit and laid in bed all early afternoon watching the two NFL playoff games. After the second game, I went downstairs to check out the cash game action and my friends still left in the $300k guarantee. I wasn't to eager to play poker, so I ended just bsing with David and Josh Mancuso. We sweated the tournament a little bit and the bigger mix game going with a few of our other buddies playing. But, we ended up deciding to go see a movie as the movie was about to start. So we left at 10:14 to see a 10:15 movie at a movie theater 10 minutes away. We got there and got our tickets for Jack Reacher and got some popcorn and drinks and enjoyed the movie. I thought it was pretty good and recommend it! After the movie, we went back to the Beau and sweat a few of our friends that were left in the tournament. We ended up getting bored and decided to get a bunch of us to play a $100 SNG. We made it a drunk and go as we all sat down and ordered a lot of drinks and shots. I donated $120 to my friends as I was the first one to bust. I had fun and drinks while they finished the drunk and go. Afterwards, we headed downstairs to jump in a 1/3 nlh game. We slowly all got on a table and we had a lot of fun short buying for $100 and getting it allin without looking and screwing around. We had lots of drinks and were by far the loudest table in there. We ended up quting prolly around 5am after we kept getting in trouble for being to loud. Everyone sort of did their own thing and went to bed, while my buddy Tim and myself joined a 5/5 PLO game. We played it for a while and ended up winnig another $1500 or so before crawling into bed around 10am.

Today, Monday, I slpet in til about 5pm before getting up and figuring out what everyone was up to. We made plans to go to the IP to watching the Bama/ND game at 6:30pm. But, David and myself were extremely hungry, so I grabbed my buddy Sterling from the cash and the three of us went to Chilis to get some food even though we were craving Bonefish. We just didn't have enough time to make it there and back to be at IP on time. We ended up stuffing our faces and gambling for the bill. David was so kind to lose and pick up the check. We rushed over to the IP and got our table at the Highlights Bar. We ended up getting bucket after bucket of Stella throughout the game, or should I say first half. That wasn't much of a game! We decided to gamble for the bill again and head to the Hard Rock to get a new scenary. David once again decided to lose CCR and pick up the check. We made it over to the Hard Rock and watched the remainder of the game as a few of us played craps. I was unfortunately not partaking the degenning as they went on a heater in craps. We ended up getting really bored over there quickly and decided to head back to the Beau to play another drunk and go. This drunk and go went a lot better for me. I ended up playing long enough to chop it at the end with two of my buddies after we decided we were ready to quit. Everyone ended up doing their own thing as a few went home and others went to degen in the pit. I tried to go play PLO but list was very long and I decided to watch Sterling grind some Bovada online in our room and got me to start writing this. Now, I am heading to bed! We have one more day here in Biloxi before we leave Wednesday morning for Choctaw. But it had been another great winning trip!

The Start of 2013 and a Full Month on the Road

I am going to skip my bio, and come back to that later in the next month.

I wanted to start a blog this year so all my friends, family, and fans could track my success.  This is my first time blogging, so bare with me. I've never enjoyed writing, but we are going to make it happen.

Well, I have big plans for 2013! This is the first year I can remember writing down goals and New Years resolutions in my life. Not going to share some of them as some people will laugh and make fun of me. This year I am focusing on myself and putting myself before other people! Some people might think this is selfish, but if you knew me, you would understand. I plan to be healthier this year and get back in shape. In this process, I plan on getting down to minimum 220lbs with ideal weight below 200lbs. On my journey doing that, I plan on crushing live poker this year and qualifying for the National Championship for the second consecutive year. I plan on winning at least one circuit ring and profiting over 100k in live tourneys. I plan on getting enough points to qualify in the National Championship ASAP, so I can relocate to Rosarita, Mexico and move in with my old roommate, thelipofund, Marty Mathis. Here, I will get set up on pokerstars again, and I intend on crushing online until the WSOPc New Orleans and National Championship in May. From there, I will head to Vegas, and I plan on crushing the WSOP all summer and making a run in the Main Event.

Given the goals... I'm starting a road trip for the month of January that is going to consist of three major poker stops. I have rented a Nissan Altima for $1050 from Tampa, FL yesterday. I came through Perry, FL yesterday visiting an exgf as I scooped up my buddy, Willie, in Tallahassee, FL today to head to Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS. We will be arriving there in about 4 hours and playing some cash games tonight. We are going to Biloxi to play the first event, $345 300k gur, of the Million Dollar heater. We  are staying at the Beau Rivage and will be spending roughly $650 on the room. We will be there til Wednesday, and then we head to Choctaw Casino in Durant, OK. On this trip, we will be adding two more guys, David and Sterling. We will be there for a good week and a half playing WSOP circuit. Here, we will be staying at a Holiday Inn for roughly $750. From there, we will be taking our travels to Tunica, MS for another WSOPc event for another week and a half. This trip will only be with my boy, Willie. We have yet to book the room for this trip, but we will be staying at Harrahs, and it shouldn't be much more than $700 for the whole stay. On this trip, I will have $3150 in expenses plus food and gas money expenses as well. I will be playing over $18,000 in buyins of tournaments. I will be driving some where between 3k-4k miles.

Well, I'm on I-4 west heading to Mississippi! I plan on blogging hopefully once or twice a week to update my trip and what is happening. I hope everyone enjoys the info I will be sharing. I have always had tons of people asking me about expenses and how everything was profitable. So I plan on tracking as much info as possible and educate some of y'all.

2013 is my year!
